Ukraine Lost More Than 3,600 Square Kilometers in 2024, According to Analysis

Ukraine lost more than 3,600 square kilometers of territory in 2024 compared to the 540 square kilometers it had left a year earlier, according to data from the military analysis platform collected by the portal ‘Militarnyi’.

The pace of Russian military operations increased in the second half of last year and, especially from August onwards, territorial losses were increasing month by month.
In November, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 610 square kilometres of territory or 20.3 square kilometres per day in their clashes with Russian troops, with the largest territorial losses in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Kharkov.
According to ‘Militranyi’, in the new year, Russia will continue its efforts to complete the capture of the cities of Kurajov, Toretsk and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
It will also advance towards the administrative boundary of the Dnipropetrovsk region with a view to initiating hostilities in that region and increasing control over the territory of the Donetsk region in all directions.
Russian Armed Forces’ Uragan multiple rocket launcher system teams are attacking the Ukrainian defenses in Velikaya Novosiolka, Donetsk, according to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The statement highlights that the gunners continue to bomb without interruption, thus weakening the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The special operation of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine has resulted in the destruction of significant military assets, including 590 air defense systems, more than 20,000 tanks and armored vehicles, 20,186 guns and mortars, as well as multiple rocket launchers.
In addition, 651 aircraft, 283 helicopters and almost 40,000 drones have been destroyed along with a considerable number of vehicle units, according to information of the Russian media outlet Sputnik.
